Play truth or dare online on one phone, tablet or laptop. This truth or dare game picks whose turn it is, then gives that player a family-friendly truth to answer or a dare to do. Choose from three decks of truth or dare questions and dares, for kids, families and friends, or write your own. It works for 2 to 12 players, and there is nothing to pass around: the phone stays on the table where everyone can see it. It is free, needs no sign-up and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
How to play Truth or Dare
- Type in 2 to 12 names, pick the decks and the rounds (Endless, 3, 5 or 10), and press Start.
- The phone spins through the names and stops on the player whose turn it is.
- That player picks Truth, Dare or Random. Read the card out loud.
- Truth: answer honestly. Dare: do it right away. Every built-in dare takes less than a minute, at home, with nothing more than a book or a pen.
- Tap Done, and the phone picks the next person. Rather not? Tap Skip and use one of your skips.
- A round is one turn for everyone. After the last round, or when you tap End, you see how many truths and dares each player did. Nobody wins and nobody loses.
The complete truth or dare rules cover house rules, keeping the game kind and sample cards from every deck.
Play Truth or Dare on one device
The phone never has to change hands. Put it flat on the table, or let one person hold it and read the cards. In Spin mode the phone chooses fairly: everyone has a turn before anyone has a second one, and with three or more players nobody goes twice in a row. Prefer to go round the circle? Choose In order under More options.
The phone never needs to hide anything: truths and dares are read out loud, and the whole group hears the answer. Made a mistake? Undo takes back the last Done or Skip, and a skip comes back with it. On a laptop you can play from the keyboard: T for truth, D for dare, R for random, Enter for done and S to skip.
Truth or dare for kids, families and friends
- Kids (6–12): short, playful truths like “If you had a pet dragon, what would you name it?” and silly dares like walking across the room like a crab.
- Family: for all ages at once, from grandparents to kids. Questions about favorite memories and hidden talents, and dares like a dramatic reading of a nursery rhyme.
- Friends (teens+): more social and creative, still clean. Opinions, habits and stories, plus dares like pitching a ridiculous invention to the group.
Each deck has over 60 truths and over 60 dares, all original and family-friendly. Mix decks for a wider range. If you pick only one deck and play a long game, the cards come round again once every one of them has been played.
Your own truths and dares
Use the game as a truth or dare generator for your own ideas. Tap Add my prompts on the setup screen to write truths and dares for your group: inside jokes, questions about a trip you just took, or dares that suit your living room. Each one can be 3 to 140 characters, and you can keep up to 100 on this device. Pick the My prompts deck to play them, on their own or mixed in with the built-in cards.
Quick tips
- Start with Random for the first round: nobody has to decide, and it warms the group up.
- With younger children, choose Kids and Family, In order, and two skips each.
- Keep it kind: anyone can skip, and nobody has to explain why.
The truth or dare hosting tips help you pick decks for your group, write good custom prompts and keep shy players comfortable.
