  1. Version 1.2.0

    Latest

Players and scores, sharing your wins, settings in one place, and unfinished games one tap away.

    New

    • Settings: theme, colour-safe colours, larger text and controls, motion, sound and game preferences in one place. Open it from the gear at the top of every page, the footer or a game’s More menu.
    • Back up and restore: save everything the site keeps in your browser to a file, bring it back on another day or device, or delete it all.
    • Continue where you left off: unfinished games show up on the home page, the games page and collections, and their cards say “In progress”.
    • Players and scores: save the people you play with, pick them in any game with one tap (the people button in each name field), and see who’s winning today, this month and all time, game by game and head to head. Every finished game counts, with no sign-up.
    • Share result: after a game, share a picture of who won to WhatsApp, Instagram or anywhere, square or story size. It’s made on your device.
    • Word packs: make your own list of words for an office party, a class or a family trip, and play it in Charades, Imposter and Hangman. Share a pack with one link; it’s kept on your device.
    • What’s new: this page, with every release of the site.
    • Game tours: the first time you open a game, a short tour shows what to tap: how to set up, how to roll in Ludo, your first move in Chess. Skip it any time, take it again from Rules or More, or turn it off in Settings.

    Improved

    • Larger text and controls: bigger text and buttons everywhere, in Settings.
    • Motion: turn animations down, or keep them on, whatever your device says.
    • Accessibility checks: every page and every game is checked automatically; tables in the rules guides scroll with the keyboard; boards keep their colours in Windows High Contrast.

    • Sound on iPhone: game sounds now play even when the phone is on Silent. Turn them off in Settings or a game’s More menu.
